What is jerk test for shoulder?

The jerk test of shoulder has been used as a diagnostic test of the posteroinferior instability of the shoulder. Shoulder Pain may or may not be associated during posterior clunking of jerk test.

This test help to detect success of nonoperative treatment for posteroinferior instability of the shoulder and also help to identify the pathologic lesion responsible for the shoulder pain.

• When the arm is returned in to the original position, then the a second jerk is to the observed, of the humeral head is into the returning of the in to the glenoid rim .

Interpretation of this test :

• This test is positive for to the recurrent of the posterior instability is to the production of a sudden jerk or clunk as to the humeral head slides off to the back of the glenoid .

• When of to the arm is to the returned of into the original 90′ abduction position into second jerk is felt as to the heads the reduces .

• This positive sign also indicate a positive test for a posterioinferior laberal tear .
