Rockwood test : Shoulder Joint Examination Test

How to perform of this test ?

• Starting position of this test is sitting position .
• The examiner stands behind of the patient with the arm at the patient ‘s side .
• Then examiner do the lateral rotation of the shoulder .
• After that the arm is abducted to 45 ‘ & do the passive lateral rotation .
• This test is repeated at to the 90 ‘ & 120 ‘ of to the abducted of the arm .
• This different positions are performed in the test is very important because the stabilizers of the shoulder vary as the angle of abduction changes .

Interpretation of the test ?

• Patient is feel the apprehension with the posterior pain when the arm is at 90 degree .
• At the 45 ‘ & 120 ‘ patient feel the some pain .
• At the 0 ‘ patient feel the rarely apprehension .
• In all the situation this test is positive .
